The world’s most prosperous economies are also among the most innovative and that innovation is driven first and foremost by research. This year’s G20 summit is one of the world’s few forums for international co-operation taking place and the expectations are rightly high that the expertise and resources of its members should play a champion’s role in addressing the pandemic challenge.
The tenth report from the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) released ahead of the G20 Summit, includes both a written summary and a host of graphs and exhibits that highlight the research performance of the 19 leading countries including EU as an additional 20th member. It also consists of a special analysis of the G20 members’ contribution to recent COVID-19 research as indexed in the Web of Science ™ research publication and citation index.
